Background:Basilar artery occlusion (BAO) usually develops with brainstem symptoms, but rarely seizure. We report two cases of BAO presenting with unconsciousness and seizure.
Case Report:Two male patient were visited to emergency room with unconsciousness and seizure (tonic extension and generalized tonic clonic seizure) immediately after arrival. BAO was observed on both CT angiography. Multiple infarctions were observed in occipital lobe, cerebellum, pons and midbrain on diffusion weighted MRI.
Conclusion:BAO presenting with seizure can mimic other neurologic conditions and it can make the patient with BAO missed an opportunity to receive an early treatment. We should pay attention to the patient who has seizure, unconsciousness and focal neurologic deficits
